Our Abenaki Study

The Abenaki

Over the next few weeks, we will be learning about the Abenaki people.  As we study, we will likely have some questions about these Native Americans and their lives yesterday and today.  We are fortunate to have Professor Colin Calloway of Dartmouth College available to answer our questions and give us feedback on our projects.

We will also be creating model Abenaki villages in our classrooms.  We will then photograph the villages and create a website with the pictures and information about our villages.  We will be combining our learning about the Abenaki with our learning about how to create a webpage!

Professor Calloway has recommended the PBS series We Shall Remain.  You can watch the series of videos here
